WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
It takes time for children to learn right from wrong and if you lack patience you could be looking at serious problems.
Do you respect yourself and others?
Are you trustworthy, both with peoples belongings and with the lives of children?
Do you have a personality that can make people smile?
Do you like to interact with adults and children?
Do you have a sense of humor?
Are you reliable? Are you on time?
You have to genuinely enjoy children in order to be a child care provider or else you and the family are put in a sticky situation.
Are you calm and sensible?
You have some form of experience in multiple age groups, such as experience caring for a newborn, toddler, and school-aged children.
Age and Maturity:
Age is a factor. If you're at a high school we look for additional evidence of experience and maturity. A good babysitter is one who can handle direction's, know when things should be taken seriously, and abide by a parent’s decisions.
It is important to have a CPR certification in times of an emergency. The ability to act quickly and stay calm in medical emergencies is also an important factor.
Passing a Background Check:
You must be willing to provide a background check upon the family's request. We don't take chances with children's safety. We care about safety and welfare of children.
